“At a regular golf course, they have yards marked from the start. Out here you have to eyeball it,” said Llewellyn Bedonie of Pinon, Ariz., who was one of the 50 golfers competing in the at the Wagon Trail golf course on Saturday.
“People out there have built rodeo arenas, they have bull ridings and rodeos in their backyards. Why not golf?” asked Freddie Yazzie, co-founder of the Steamboat golf course.
“They have greens out there on the golf course. Here we call them browns,” said Bedonie.
“It’s a challenge. A real golf course is pretty easy,” said Brian Trujillo of Round Rock, Ariz., who played alongside his father Steven.
