$9.5M road project completed in Delaware County

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) _ The Cherokee Nation has completed a $9.5 million road project in Delaware County.
The tribe paved nearly 10 miles of Delaware County Road North 4580 in the southern portion of the county to make travel safer.
The Cherokee Nation says it works in cooperation with counties inside the tribal boundaries to repair and replace roads and bridges. This project was funded under a federal program.
Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Bill John Baker said in a news release that the tribe is proud to make the investment because it improves the quality of life in Delaware County.
